Life begins at the end of your comfort zone

“From birth, man carries the weight of gravity on his shoulders. He is bolted to the earth. But man only has to sink beneath the surface and he is free.” – Jacques Yves Cousteau

To Each Their Own

We have a Freediver course for every level and ability, whether you're just testing the waters with the Discover Freediving course, want to gain confidence as a Basic Freediver, or are ready to take the plunge with the full Freediver Certification.
  • Challenge Yourself

Freediving is a world onto its own, the tranquility of which is almost impossible to portray. For this reason and may others, practitioners often describe it as addictive. For those who have never experienced the thrill of descending into the depths on a single breath, freediving may seem like a frivolous death wish. It's true that the risk is often part of the appeal, but it's more than that. The sense of freedom that comes with being able to explore the ocean floor with nothing more than experience and willpower is therapeutic, as is the self-discipline and self-awareness it takes to overcome your mind's natural inclination to panic during a breath-hold.

    Less is More

One of my favorite things about freediving is that the less you do, the better you are. If you can quiet you mind, relax your body, move slower and with more intention, then you can stay longer, dive deeper, and go further. Initially, this is counter intuitive – in most sports the faster you move the further you go, but in freediving it's all about oxygen conservation. In the underwater world, when you're running on a single breath, any unnecessary movement or stress threatens your precious oxygen stores. It's amazing where you can go in the time between breaths, and what your body can do to get you there.
